Wilmington is situated in the aptly named Beautiful Valley in the District Council of Mount Remarkable. It is a small rural town of several hundred people with the main industry being agriculture. Founded in 1970 Wilmington Kindergarten has well maintained facilities including a newly refurbished kitchen. The indoor environment has a wet area, home corner and carpeted area. Children also use the large sheltered verandah for painting, woodwork and construction with large blocks.

The mission of Wilmington Lacrosse is to provide an opportunity for young athletes to learn and play the game of lacrosse, and to have fun in a safe and positive environment that fosters good sportsmanship and citizenship.
